What Kirari is currently listening to

Figured I'd put in another music post, been a while since I did one (I think). This one will pretty much be a general mix of stuff I've been listening to a lot as of late.

First I'm starting with 6ε6* (Muni) who sang that very cute cover of Bathroom Garden I posted about last time (the last video). I was listening to some of her other stuff and was really surprised to hear how much range she has. She has that cutesy voice that she used for Bathroom Garden, and I expected her other songs to be similar, but then I saw a few songs in her list that wouldn't exactly go well with a cutesy voice for the whole song. So I played them, and I was really surprised. She does all the voices, and she's really good at them. First one I'll put up here is Mr. Alice.

I've been listening to this song a lot. All of her voices really add a lot of flavor to this song. I don't think there's another cover of this song that has as much personality as this one. Currently the song I listen to and keep hitting "replay" at the end of it over and over. It'll probably be that way for about a week before I listen to it casually instead of on constant loop.

Of course, I also looked at some of her other songs and found something else I really liked.

Her cover of Scissorhands is really nice. Her voice really compliments the song, I can imagine her singing this live. when I first heard the original I actually didn't like it that much, but hearing the song again in Muni's voice really changed it for me. Sometimes there are just Vocaloid songs that I like better with a human voice, and Vocaloid songs I think don't sound the same with a human voice.

I've also been listening to a lot of 相対性理論 (Soutaiseiriron, The Theory Of Reality). If the vocalist sounds familiar, that's because she's Etsuko Yakushimaru, she sang for openings of anime like Arakawa Under The Bridge.

I knew about the band before, but the songs never really started getting stuck into my head until after /jp/ radio started requesting her songs a lot.

I've also been listening to a bit of the Quartett! OST, but I might save those for a later post.

Stay easy, guys.

Vocaloid Covers

So I did a post before on Vocaloid songs, and it got some good responses. Everyone does Vocaloid songs, but I thought I'd mix it up a little by throwing in some Vocaloid covers for you guys. Some of these are well known Niconico artists, while others are rather small names. I remember seeing some rumor that the girls that sang one of the EDs for Ore no imouto are actually 2 Niconico artists. I haven't seen the episode yet (backloggin EVERYDAY NIGGAS~) but I'd like if some of my favorite voices got a chance to start a professional career from their Niconico works.

So, without further ado, here's a handful of songs. First I'll start with one of my favorite singers, Choucho:

I really like her voice. She has a nice range, being able to even hit the high notes of Last Night Good Night without autotuning it up like most others that attempt the song. Her Niconico account is here if you want to hear some more of her stuff.

Vivi's cover of Rin's Tengaku. I actually think her voice is really Rin-like. Very fitting for the song. I haven't checked out her other covers yet, because I always forget to, but after I write this up I'll give her account a look at to see if I find anything else interesting from her.

Strange cover ahead, you've been warned.

This is Yoppei. He has a very...eccentric voice and style of doing his covers. He does them in a rather comical style. If you can understand some Japanese to hear how he does the lyrics in his own style a bit, you may like some of the humor he incorporates in his song. His profile has songs where he pretty much just redoes a full song with his own lyrics.

This next one is fairly new to me. I just heard her cover of Bathroom Garden recently and really love what she did with the song. I'm going to check out some of her other stuff after this post as well. 6ε6*'s voice is seriously cute, and fits in perfectly with the song. It's cute without trying too hard to sound cute. It's the kind of cute voice that sounds like it's naturally cute. Really, I've been playing this song so many times recently, it makes me smile.

Let me know if you guys like this kind of stuff, I can make more posts on it in the future.

Some Vocaloid songs

Making my 2nd music post here. This time I'm going for some Vocaloid songs. If you don't like Vocaloid, that's cool and understandable.

This is a rather new song from OSTER Project, the same composer that made some of my older favorites, Miracle Paint and Piano Girl.

I don't check Vocaloid charts much, but I'd assume World's End Dancehall is a fairly popular song. So some of you probably know it already. Regardless, felt like putting it in here because I like it quite a bit when I'm in the mood for it.

Don't want to oversaturate this post. I might make another Vocaloid post sometime in the future if I see people like this post. If not then it's all cool, I've other music I can post anyway (not that I post music that much).
