Back and sleepy

In the clear again, I think. Still have 2 assignments due tomorrow, but I don't think they're major. Haven't started them yet though, but oh well. In any case, I'll mostly make this into a shitpost about my week.
First of all, it turns out the group project is due next week. It was supposed to be this week but I guess plans just changed. Oh well, it works better for me anyway. I didn't see the movie, just skipped through until I found a scene worth using for my essay. Unfortunately my partner asked what I thought of the movie and I lied saying it was good. She proceeded to try talking a hole into my head and asking me what I thought about scene X and Y. Eventually I told her I had a bus to catch so she understood and stopped talking as I left. The other members of our group didn't come that day though.

On Wednesday I had a Japanese test. I go into class and my professor put the seating arrangements up. I end up sitting pretty much opposite of where I always sit, but I still sit next to the same person. I wouldn't have paid it any mind really, but while taking out my pencils I hear her ask:
"Do you watch Madoka?"

Wat. I didn't really give an answer but she told me she saw a glimpse of my core drill key chain (the one without any tags on it indicating what it's from) once in my book bag. I never thought anyone would see it so never bothered removing it from my keys, since they're always in my book bag, but I guess someone was watching one day when I didn't notice. I suppose there was also a day where the lobby was empty before class and I was listening to Magia while she passed by and asked me what room we were in that day. I didn't think of it at the time, but even though I don't listen to my music loud, it was quiet enough that the sound could probably leak pretty noticeably. I don't talk with anyone, and it's not like she asked anyone else any sort of question like that (she never even made it known so watches anime actually) so it was really surprising to get asked a question like that completely out of the blue. She didn't say much since it was right before the test anyway, but I suppose this means on Monday she's going to want to talk to me about the finale that aired yesterday. I don't really have much of a problem with that, I guess. I'll try to keep it from being a foot into the door of getting to know me though.

And of course, ZUN released TH13's demo this week, as if he wanted me to be distracted from my work! Good thing its difficulty level was easy enough for me to not get hooked onto it. I still enjoyed it, and under normal circumstanced would have played more; specifically to get Youmu's shot type down, it has a lot of potential but seems like it needs you to play in a Shoot The Bullet kind of style. I admittedly didn't like the new music at first either, but it ended up growing on me after playing through a few times.

And today the plan was to go to my grandmother's house so my uncle could take a look at my computer. I pulled my tower out and as I unplugged it I realized something. I had the wrong cord plugged in. This whole time I was thinking I unknowingly pulled something inside when switching cables and went too braindead to fix it. No wonder I couldn't find anything wrong! It got enough power for the motherboard's light to turn on, but it wasn't enough power to actually start it up. I know, I know. Why would I have 2 identical cords, with 1 being incompatible with my power source (yet able to fit) and within such close proximity? I dunno! I didn't even know that cord could fit into my computer, because it's the cord used for my internal to external drive converter. Isn't that funny!? Hahahahahahahahahahah!

Okay, really. It took me way too long to figure that out. I was too focused on looking at my computer's guts to realize that I just had the wrong cord plugged in. Well, now I know! Unfortunately I already had a ride ready to take me to Gram gram's house, and I could have just explained the situation and turn the ride down, but I felt like it'd be kinda mean to say "well I only really wanted to go there to see what my uncle has to say about the computer" and cancel the trip. Even though I'm sure they wouldn't mind or think anything of it. So I'm in my grandmother's house right now. I wasn't able to work on my computer, but I assume I can get it working easily when I get home on Sunday to pop the XP disk inside and run recovery.

And since I'm up here I might as well go to a nice pizza shop I grew up on and get one of their huge calzones. I have someone reading Symphonic Rain right now and giving me his commentary of it every now and then. He just finished the 3 main routes and is on one of the secret ones right now, but the point is I got in the mood for calzones again from Symphonic Rain.

On another note, I've been keeping up with some blogs but haven't really had the time to comment, sorry guys. I could have commented, but I'm sure most of you have noticed my comments are sometimes quite lengthy. It's not like I do it on purpose, but they just come out that way. I didn't really want to lose track of time by writing long comments, so I held back. Since I have work to catch up on tomorrow I dunno if I'll be free then to comment, but I'll try.

Now to end this post in a semi-non-shitty manner, I guess I can combine it with the video of the week. This is the PV for Hyadain's (congratulations to him for his first professional debut, seems to be a recent trend for Nico singers to get picked up to do anime OPs) Kakakata kataomoi-c, the opening for Nichijou. I don't know why, but this PV seems so hypnotic. I blame the cube and dancers. Seriously, I keep watching it, and my attention keeps getting drawn to either the dancers or the cube, but I don't know which one is grabbing my attention more. And it's not even particularly eye catching either, but it's hypnotic for some reason!

Now I'm sleepy, so I'll probably just review the kanji I learned today, finish up the last chapter of Poncho, and go to sleep. Take it easy, everyone.

Video of the week

This video is from one of those Japanese shows where they show reactions of people to certain events in small boxes. I don't even know if there's a name for this kind of show actually, but they're always so goofy. This is a clip of them playing some pranks different breeds of dogs and rating their reactions.

I like how everything needs a cute little sound effect to accompany it. I was thinking of possibly tuning into one of these shows even if they mostly don't seem too interesting. They tend to keep things lively though.

REAL final midterm is tomorrow. Also, video of the week.

If you want to avoid the cool story, the video is at the bottom.
So  I said in my earlier post that spring break doesn't actually start for me until Monday because I still have a midterm for an online course due tomorrow. I do at least know some of what's on it, but I can't say I'm too confident on all the material considering how she does her quizzes. A lot of her questions are worded vaguely, and since it's not multiple choice you just have to pretty much deal with her wording. I also don't really feel like trying too much in the class.

She has her tests planned on such awkward time frames, and I'm so forgetful that I forgot the date of our first test so got a 0 for it. Considering tests make up about 60% of our grade, that one test alone is almost the death blow of the class grade, which pretty much makes me lose motivation for even trying hard in it. I don't like the idea of busting my ass studying and still getting a poor/failing grade, wasting valuable time I could be using to focus on what I really want to learn instead. So I was supposed to study a bit today, but ended up spending almost the entire day on Japanese instead while procrastinating. I don't really mind, taking it easy is my thing. No need to stress over small stuff, it'll get me nowhere. So just taking it easy. I'll probably fail that course, but it can't be helped.

I got some laminated kanji poster to hang on my wall and help me keep track of my progress. Works pretty well, looks nice, and I can easily write on it and highlight troubled ones that aren't clicking with me so I can review them first thing when I wake up and look at my wall.

But enough about me. Here's the video of the week.

Video contains Madoka spoilers

Here we have a nice little parody opening of Hidamari Sketch (Chidamari Sketch, where chidamari means blood puddle) using Madoka's cast.

Review tomorrow

Took it too easy today and now I'm sleepy. I'll do my Flandre Nendoroid review tomorrow, and catch up on missed blog posts today. For anyone wondering, I did get the charges of my case dropped. I'm surprised that I actually did, but I always have a pessimistic view on everything, especially something like this. I was prepared to pay the fine, I guess, but it all worked out so I can keep my money. It was quicker than I thought too. I figured I'd be stuck in the court for hours waiting for people ahead of me to finish, and then have my date rescheduled when I pleaded not guilty so they could bring in the officer that ticketed me to provide his side of the story or something. But it seems the proof I provided was valid enough to clear my name.

Today I've just been really lazy. I didn't even play MvC3 all day. For some reason I wasn't at top performance today, so just ended my game early. The rest of the time I spent lounging around and studying Japanese every few hours. Right now my dog is sleeping on my lap and not allowing me to move.

I did see Madoka episode 8 today, and enjoyed it a lot. I then proceeded to spend the rest of my day pretty much lurking Madoka threads on /a/ to see what they're talking about.

And I want to pay for my Patchouli plush that I managed to get off Amiami, but my paypal won't sent the text to my cellphone for me to sign on. I don't know why really. I have until the 3rd to pay, so I'm not too worried, and if worse comes to worse then I'll just fill out the security questions to bypass the text key, but I hope I don't have to go through the extra work.

Oh well, lazying it up. Time to go look around to see what you guys are up to.

Video of the week Jan. 19

Semi-filler, but I forgot I haven't done one of these in a while. I had a blog planned for today, but it'd require me to get some screenshots of something, and I didn't feel like loading up my emulator. Also, today was a surprisingly productive day for me, because I spent almost the whole day reviewing and studying Japanese instead of lazing around and lazily looking over Japanese for 30 minutes or so. Didn't want to break the flow, so kinda stuck with it. Right now I think I'll call it a night for my Japanese studies, felt kinda nice looking over old stuff I had problems with understanding, and being able to get it with little effort.

I emailed Amiami about the account change and haven't gotten word from them yet about what my new email means for my previous orders, but hopefully I get some word on them soon (before Takoluka comes in stock). I also don't even know if they shipped my Dead Master figure yet, but I did pay for it and there's no noticed on my Paypal or anything, so I assume it was shipped out by now. I asked them to confirm there was no issues with the shipping just to make sure. Rather not have to wait another month because of a complication that could have been avoided if I simply informed them of my situation.

So the video of this week is something cute I just picked up on while lurking around the new for a bit. Might not be so cute to anyone that hasn't seen Milky Holmes, but if you have then you might want to get your nutbladder bandages ready.

Video of the week #...whatever

I lost track. The numbers don't matter much, do they?
I'm thinking of doing another music post for tomorrow, but I kinda feel I've been falling back on those too much. I thought of doing a review on Umineko, but dunno if I could actually do something like that, especially without accidentally spoiling. Kind of running dry on ideas. C79 can't come any sooner, that'll give me some fresh stuff to blog about. I spent today taking a big bite out of my backlog. Almost done with Ika Musume, watched a few Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru episodes, played some of my current MMO...

In other words, a very laid back day for me. Feels good, man. So, I actually didn't find any interesting videos this week, probably because I haven't been browsing my usual places much this week for various reasons, so this video isn't so interesting. Just a Touhou GTA hack with Flandre going around shooting pogeymanz.

Video of the week #6

Panty and Socking Touhou. This was made a lot faster than I thought it would take.

In other news, my pile of work is starting to slow down. I was able to look at some of your entries today, but I haven't gotten to catch up to some of your latest ones. You'll be seeing me comment on a daily basis again tomorrow, as I'll have everything done by then.

Video of the week #5

This week I'm showing off some gameplay of the new Umineko game:

I love how the game has a character switch system, like the Capcom vs series. Also, Siesta 410 (or should I say CHIESTER) seems like my kind of character. I'm very hyped for this game. I hope /jp/ has a few netplay threads for it that are more frequent than meltan threads, but maybe less frequent than TH12.3 threads.

Video of the week #5

Have tests this week, and all my free time is dedicated to tackling my backlog a bit. I'm midway into the 2nd volume of Utsuro no Hako to Zeto no Maria. Anyway, this week's video:

Some guy playing the rival battle theme from the first Pokemon games. Pretty old, but I doubt many people have really seen it before, so posting it here.

Video of the week #4

Busy week, busy week. I have the oral part of my Japanese midterm coming up this week. I actually had to partner with someone, which sucks really badly. I hate doing group work, and it's really horrible for a class like Japanese. I ended up pretty much tutoring the guy while coming up with dialog for us to say. So rather than talking in Japanese with him, I have to rehearse some script we made, because if I divert from the script, he won't know what the hell I'm saying. No improvisation, and my memory is horrible. I have to memorize a script in such a short amount of time. It may be a short script, but my memory is so horrible that I just know I'll forget a line or two and completely lose him unintentionally. I'd be forced to improvise, while he wouldn't be able to answer, and it'd just be pretty bad from there.

Anyway, on to the video. I like calling this one "Hadoken Dentetsu"

Video of the week #3

Video of the week time. Semi-filler since I'm still swamped with work I have to catch up and stuff. Have a video from that Namasensei dude. Some of you may hate him, some of you may like his lessons. I mostly just like the cultural specials on Japan he does and stuff.

Split into 2 parts. If you're interested in seeing average signs in Japan, you can pretty much just see this for a quick tour. Not too funny, but might make you crack a smile at least just to see the sign and hear him point out cultural differences.

Oh right, there's also a video of him showing you guys about how karaoke works over there. Mostly just him drunk though, but I'm fairly sure he's drunk in most of his videos anyway.

Video of the week #2

Bit busy today and I'm a bit sore. Right now I'm just sitting here with a half eaten slice of cold pizza on my table and a damp towel on my head, since I'm drying my head off from the rain. Woke up today and almost ended up missing my bus because I was listening to some songs and reading some /jp/ posts. Luckily I managed to actually get there as soon as the bus showed up at the stop.

I plan on posting something with a bit more substance later, but for now have the video of the week while I relax a bit and possibly watch that Panty and Stocking episode everyone has been making a big deal about.

This video...well, it'll show you the secret of life, I guess. Alpacas + that strange dance from one of kamS' videos. When you're done watching this video, you should have new insight as to how the world works. This video will change your outlook on the universe.
