It's never important what you like, but why you like it. Maybe you find the shounen genre to be an interesting reflection of the pressures on Japanese adolescents to grow up or perform or some shit. I used to be NEET ...It's just a level 1 course. I used to be NEET for a while and then decided to start taking Japanese classes in an attempt to boost motivation and also help me in grammar (my weakest area).<br /><br />So far it's been able to help with both, even if I'm far more advanced than the rest of the class. The professor realized this so gives me harder work than the rest of the class (longer sentences, using as much kanji as I know, etc.)<br /><br />I agreed to the extra work though, keeps me from getting bored by doing stuff I've already covered long ago.
